You’ve Owned: Accurate numbers, Strong controls. Clear advice

NOW WE WANT YOU TO DO IT WITH US.

Imparja Television is 100% Aboriginal-owned, independent and not-for-profit. From Mparntwe, we reach more than 200 remote Aboriginal communities and over one million viewers each day.

Reporting to the Executive of Corporate Services & Governance, you will lead finance across our three entities and give our Executive and Board information they can rely on.

This isn’t a role for someone who wants to process transactions.

It’s for someone who has owned the numbers and stood behind them.

INTEGRITY. ACCURACY. INDEPENDENCE.

For an Aboriginal-owned, not-for-profit broadcaster, sound financial management protects our independence.

You will lead our Senior Finance Officer and Finance Officer and own the full finance cycle, from the monthly close and reporting to the annual audit and budget.

You will make sure our controls are sound, our compliance is never in question and every funding dollar is properly accounted for. Just as importantly, you will lift how we work, getting more from our systems so the team spends less time processing and more time looking forward.

THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR

How you work matters as much as what you’ve achieved. We want someone with integrity and discretion, who stays calm when deadlines compete and explains the numbers plainly.

YOU’VE DONE THIS BEFORE

We’re interested in evidence, not theory. You will be able to show where you have:

  • Worked in financial accounting for five or more years, including in management
  • Owned the sign off on statutory reporting and audit preparation
  • Managed Australian tax and payroll compliance, including Payday Super
  • Designed and maintained financial controls
  • Led and developed a finance team working in Xero
  • Given a clear, plain-language financial advice

A degree in Accounting or Finance, or a CPA or CA qualification (or substantial progress towards one), is essential. Not-for-profit, grant, media industry experience is a bonus.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Finance sits within Corporate Services & Governance, and this new role leads it. You’ll report to the Executive of Coporate Services & Governance, and work closely with management. Alice Springs offers an outdoor lifestyle and a close-knit community few places can match.

If you’ve built that before, we’d like to talk to you.
